NW PDX Trail Runners is an intermediate level (but beginner friendly!) running group that meets every Saturday at Lower Macleay in Forest Park, and usually mid-week somewhere else in the park. Originally started in February of 2013 by Danielle Spillman, the group itself has grown steadily since the beginning, although the Saturday morning runs always seem to average about 15-20 runners.
The group is usually about half regulars, half newbies, so don’t worry! You’ll almost certainly find someone to run with, as we all run at different paces.
We’re all about trail running, camping, coffee, breakfast burritos, socializing over beers, exploring Portland and the surrounding areas, talking about gear, *not* talking about gear, etc. If any of those things sound like fun to you, then come run with us!

At the end, hang out and relax with a beer and take in some tunes. We’ll give you a list of checkpoints and let you loose. The rules are simple:
- At 6 pm, a large map featuring around a dozen event checkpoints are revealed.
- The course covers NW Portland, Downtown Portland and close-in areas of the east side.
- Take notes, go to the Fit Right Facebook page or snap pictures of the map. You’ll need them to find your way.
- Hit as many checkpoints as possible in one hour. How you get there is up to you.
- Score raffle tickets at each checkpoint. More tickets equal more chances to win.
- Get back by 7:00 pm to enter your tickets in the drawing.
- When you’re done, have a beer, listen to great music, and meet new friends.

When Moms RUN This Town was founded, it was one Mama looking for other Mamas who needed to find themselves, find time for themselves, find time for each other. But pretty quickly, it became clear this wasn’t a Mama need. It was just a NEED. For ALL women. The She RUNS This Town logo was designed to represent that need, to represent ALL of us. Mother. Daughter. Wife. Sister. Friend. Woman. All of us. So we aren’t changing our name, but we now have two names. And if you weren’t sure before, please know, this group is not just for Moms. Because we ALL run this town.
This listing is for the Camas/Vancouver chapter of the Moms Run This Town national running group. Here’s the link to join this local chapter’s group Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1596438710638354

Shawn’s Coaching Philosophy: “I take a holistic approach towards coaching and training to ensure all my clients reach the starting line injury-free, mentally prepared and physically-tuned to compete at their optimal level. I understand each individual has unique goals which require unique program development. With that in mind, I prioritize individual evaluation and regular coach/client communication. This level of communication ensures that no stone is left unturned, and no corners are cut. Equally important, is balance in life. We can allow the body to develop naturally according to its own physiological clock and each clients personal goals. I place emphasis on specificity, “pre-hab”, and strength to make resilient athletes. I will work you harder than you ever thought possible, but you’ll be ready. My job is to help you develop the confidence to know that you’ll be able to tackle any workout, race or speed bump life has in store.”
