Melissa is a board certified sports specialist and avid marathoner. She specializes in orthopedic assessment, gait analysis and injury prevention using a varied approach incorporating manual therapy, strengthening and flexibility, and patient education. Additionally, Melissa is also a RRCA certified running coach, primarily focusing on working with helping the injury prone runner get back to successful training.
I first went to see Melissa when I was suffering from a serious bout of achilles tendonitis last year. Using a combination of Graston technique and massage, she got me back out running fairly quickly. Achilles tendonitis is a tough one to get over, and it took a few sessions, but, thanks to Melissa, I was able to get back out and start running and racing again. She also helped me with a back problem I was having last July. Additionally, when I went to see her for some preventative care to try and avoid what seemed like a potential IT band injury, she helped me with that as well. I really appreciate that Melissa is an avid runner herself and thus understands how much a part of your life running can become and also how hard it is when you’re injured and can’t run.
