this is a recent article that captures my love of endurance sports
With over 20 years of experience working as a fitness consultant – specializing in clinical exercise and rehabilitation, My emphasis is based on restoration of proper biomechanics and function.
My beliefs and practice in conservative sports medicine, and the restoration of functional movement is quite simple. First teach a body to move well, then teach that body to move often and Keep It Moving. The premiss of my practice is based on maximizing musculo-skeletal, and fundamental movement pattern efficiency, which I employee with every patient that walks into the clinic. In this approach of assessing, diagnosing and managing patient care – the problem is identifited and the symptoms are treated. My observations as such have lead me to understand clearly that all too commonly – what the patient is comming in with is as the problem, is rather only a symptom of a problem. In my daily practice of manual medicine and conservative sports medicine, I utilize such techniques as Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Functional Movement Screening, Functional Range Release, Active Release Techniques, stability and motor control learning, Low Level Laser Therapy (Cold Laser), Graston instrument assisted soft-tissue technique and kinesiological taping. In addition I employee diversified manual manipulation, commonly including extremity manipulation.
I believe in truly treating the body with a holistic approach to health care. The corner-stone of my beliefs are heavily based around the inclusion of regular physical activity, the maintenance of proper systems performance within one’s body, and a healthy mental state associated with the patient’s well being.
